Position:         Match Support Specialist

Job Posting:  Dec. 04, 2023 Until Filled

Full Time:       37.5 

Salary:             $16 hourly based on education and experience; with a monthly stipend to assist with Healthcare. 

 

JOB SUMMARY:  

​

The primary function of this position is to provide match support to ensure child safety, positive impacts on youth, meaningful relationships between youth (Littles) and volunteers (Bigs), and a strong sense of affiliation with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS). The secondary function of this position is to design and maintain effective strategies to recruit and enroll volunteers and youth for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jackson County (BBBSJC).  

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

​

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social services, family studies, or related field required. If applicant does not have a bachelor’s degree, applicants with equivalent experience may be considered. Experience working with both child and adult populations, customer services, and/or community outreach preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and meet state required automobile insurance premiums. Successful completion of a background check required. Social Media management experience a plus. 

 

MATCH SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES:  

​

  • Continually assess the match relationship focusing on child safety and match relationship and development. 

  • Assess and provide for individual training needs, information, and support needs for each match participant to ensure a positive youth development experience for the child, and a successful and meaningful experience for the volunteer.  

  • Ensure a high level of expertise in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures throughout all aspects of job function.  

  • Develop strategic interventions to identify and strengthen match relationships that require extra support to continue to grow.  

  • Develop, promote, and implement individual and group match activities to support ongoing volunteer involvement with the child and BBBSJC through individualized recognition, annual events, and reengagement strategies. 

  • Conduct exit interviews by phone with all parties at match closure. Assess reasons for match closure and re-match potential.  

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Routine office environment 

  • Flexible work hours

  • Moderate independent travel
